I have been hesitant to write about my experience at the Fall session of Squam Art Workshops for a number of reasons - mostly because I'm not sure how to share exactly how amazing it was - that I might not do it justice . . .
Imagine being surrounded by lovely, talented, highly-creative, like minded souls for four days of learning on a lake in the woods. Somehow I just don't think there's a lot of room to go wrong there.
For me? It was a life-changing experience. How exactly my life will change isn't clear to me yet - what I know is that there is a lump in my throat telling me that I am supposed to do something much bigger & more creative with my life . . . a voice that is calling me to a higher purpose, which will have something to do with ART.
I feel so fortunate to have met these amazing women . . . Merrilee Kennedy, Yvette Head, Maya Hackett, Sandy Steen, Hillary Sloss, Nicola Taylor, Thea Coughlin, Flora Bowley, Jen Lee, Beatrice Peltre and so many others . . . who contributed to my magical four days.
And of course, none of this would be possible without the creative vision of Elizabeth Macrellish & her right hand gal, Peg Hendel. We were given some special papers before the last day - and asked to write down one word for Elizabeth that summed up our time at camp, which given my weirdness around things being perfect (& resistance to choosing just one!), I didn't get done in time. I will mail it this week - it says: GRATITUDE . . .
More soon . . .
